Florida is a closed primary election state. Only voters who are registered with a political party may vote for their party candidates in a primary election. However, there are times when all registered voters can vote in a primary election, regardless of political party:
Voters can change their party affiliation at any time but for the change to be in effect for a primary election, the change must be made by the voter registration deadline for the election.
At a general election, all registered voters may vote for any candidate or question on the ballot, regardless of party affiliation.
You can view a list of political parties on the Division of Elections Political Party webpage.
